Meet Dr. Fournier


Dr. Maria J. Fournier is an accomplished and highly respected endodontist with over 27 years of experience.  Her practice, located in the Buffalo Grove/Arlington Heights area, treats patients in pain due to infections originating in the roots of the teeth.  To this day, Dr. Fournier treats her patients with the same excitement and passion she had when she graduated dental school.  Her office is an extension of herself; a warm, friendly, caring office which is dedicated to the health and well being of their patients.

Dr. Fournier is a member of many Dental Societies, including the American Association of Endodontics, the Endodontic Coolidge Study Club, the American Dental Association, the Illinois Dental Society, and the Chicago Dental Society.  She is a past president and current member of the Hellenic American Dental Society, Inc. and the Illinois Association of Endodontists.  In addition, Dr. Fournier participates and supports the Elite Dental Study Club whose members comprise of individuals specializing in all areas of the dental field.

Dr. Fournier was born in Chicago, Illinois, and is the product of many fine Chicago educational institutions.  After graduating from Trinity High School in River Forest in 1981, Dr. Fournier went on to earn her B.S. in biology “with departmental distinction” from the University of Illinois at Chicago.  She subsequently received her Doctor of Dental Surgery from Loyola Dental School.  In 1990, she graduated from Northwestern University School of Dentistry with a Masters Degree and her Endodontic Specialty Certificate.  Dr. Fournier also attended the University of Pennsylvania for Microscope training in February, 1999 and April, 1999.

During dental and specialty school, Dr. Fournier received numerous awards.  She received the Pierre Pauchard Academy award for Excellence; she was a member of the Alpha Sigma Nu Honor Society, and received Certificate of Merit from the Loyola endodontic department.  After her matriculation at Northwestern, she was asked to join the faculty of the school of Dentistry as an Associate Clinical Professor in the department of endodontics until the time the school closed.

Dr. Fournier currently resides in Northbrook with her son.  When not treating her patients, Dr. Fournier enjoys traveling, reading and spending time with her family.
